Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Valentin Taneyev (ranked 303 p4p, 263 weight class) and Che Von Cru (ranked 52 p4p, 46 weight class). Cru has chosen the stranger as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Valentin Taneyev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Che Von Cru!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Hirohito Nitta and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cru lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Cru on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Cru throws a shot from downtown. Taneyev moves away and avoids it.
That kick from Cru tenderised Taneyev's leg. Taneyev is trying to keep his angry face on.
A bone on bone clash there as Taneyev blocks the leg kick.
Taneyev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Cru swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Cru looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cru swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Taneyev displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Cru throws out the jab.

Cru steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Taneyev.

Taneyev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Cru fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Taneyev manages to avoid it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Cru avoids a punch combination nicely.
Cru ducks under a wild hook from Taneyev.
Cru lands with a nice combination. Taneyev backs away looking to recover.
Cru sizes up Taneyev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nice straight punches there by Cru. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Cru.
Cru feints and then cracks Taneyev's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Taneyev down.
Taneyev throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Taneyev misses with a body kick.
Cru looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Cru throws a nice inside leg kick.
A telegraphed right hand from Cru misses the target.
Taneyev misses the jab.

Cru pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Cru shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Cru throws a head kick but Taneyev moves out of range.
Taneyev is looking to counter with head kicks.
Cru connects with an inside leg kick.
Cru slips under a jab from Taneyev.
Cru scores with a leg kick.
Taneyev is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Cru throws a quick inside leg kick.
Taneyev misses the jab.
Cru fails in his attempt to clinch.
Taneyev throws an overhand right that lands on Cru's shoulder, as Cru tries to avoid the shot.
Taneyev cracks Cru with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Taneyev has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Cru to stand back up!
It looks like Che Von Cru has been cut.
Taneyev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Taneyev tries a head kick but it misses.

Crunch! Cru slams his shin into Taneyev's torso.
Cru with a nice calf kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Cru.
Taneyev bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Cru's head.
Taneyev throws out a loose jab but Cru uses good head movement to avoid it.
Cru smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Cru changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Taneyev throws a head kick but Cru moves out of range.
Taneyev feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Cru sprawling to the canvas! Cru rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Taneyev finish him?!
Cru is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Cru pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Taneyev back to the cage. Cru follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Cru is still on wobbly legs! Can Taneyev finish him?
Cru throws a low kick but Taneyev avoids it.
Taneyev darts in and lands a big hook, right on the button! Cru's legs crumble underneath him as he falls to the canvas! The ref tackles Taneyev before he gets to land any more shots to his stricken foe.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Valentin Taneyev!
A relieved looking Valentin Taneyev thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
