The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zhdanov lands a jab to the head.
It looks like Israel Okoye has been cut.
Zhdanov misses with a looping right.
Zhdanov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Okoye moves away.
Zhdanov lands a big uppercut and Okoye crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Okoye looks OK. Zhdanov waves Okoye back to his feet!
Zhdanov tries a head kick but it misses.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Zhdanov loads up on a big right hand but Okoye slips the punch.
Okoye takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Okoye walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Okoye limp body while Zhdanov jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Roman Zhdanov!
After winning the bout, Roman Zhdanov thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
