PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Agansing Rai (ranked 2618 p4p, 2521 weight class) and Diego Armando (ranked 354 p4p, 341 weight class). Rai's entrance music is Wolf Totem. A fine choice. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, George Francis and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rai wants to clinch up but Armando keeps it at a distance.
The fighters circle momentarily. Armando darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Rai changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Armando lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

It looks like Agansing Rai has been cut.
Rai throws a body shot but no joy.
Armando lands with an uppercut that bounces Rai off the cage and back into range.
Armando ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Rai moves away.
Armando connects with a nice looking jab.

Rai darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Rai wants to work for an arm triangle but Armando is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Armando is trying to maintain the position but Rai is very close to passing his half guard.

Rai is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Armando is just riding it out for now. Rai eventually gives up the hold.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Armando can do anything to dispel that myth.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Rai definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Rai moves away from the strike by Armando.
Rai misses with a hook. Armando ducked under it nicely.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Rai lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Armando has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Armando and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Rai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Armando's half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Rai drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Rai seems to have locked his on tight now - Armando screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Rai, as he picks up the win!
