Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cayden Abner (ranked 284 p4p, 507 weight class) and Patrick River (ranked 42 p4p, 79 weight class). Abner comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls On Parade. River has chosen Pantera - Walk as his entrance music. Patrick River has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, Patrick River!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
And Abner counters with a quick kick to the body but River blocks it.
River pushes Abner away with a front kick.
River throws a left and a right that both miss
and Abner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

It looks like Patrick River has been cut.
Abner just misses with a punch to the body.
River misses with a two punch combination.
Abner feinted there with a counter leg kick.
River chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Abner can pounce on him.

and Abner counters with a nice low kick that buckles River's knee momentarily.
River lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

River does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Abner buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Abner moves forwards but River connects with a nice, crisp jab.
River throws a leg kick but Abner moved away.
Abner swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Abner stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from River.

Abner looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Abner is trying to control the action in half guard but River is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

River is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Abner pulls his head out easily.

Abner is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. River doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Abner.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Abner creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Patrick River comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got River winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
