Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Kirk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marco Battaglia!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Percy O'Donnell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kirk throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kirk throws out a leg kick but Battaglia moves out of range and Kirk only half commits.
Nice uppercut lands for Battaglia. That snapped Kirk's head back.
Battaglia walks into a left hand.
Battaglia tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kirk paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Battaglia lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kirk has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kirk and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Battaglia has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Battaglia's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Kirk connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Battaglia scrambles back to his feet.
