Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Chang (ranked 1274 p4p, 2621 weight class) and Jean Luc Picard (ranked 168 p4p, 320 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bruce Chang!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jean Luc Picard!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chang throws out a loose jab but Picard uses good head movement to avoid it.

Nice uppercut lands for Picard. That snapped Chang's head back.
Picard displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Chang throws out the jab.
Picard swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Chang counters with a left to the body.
Chang lands a head kick. Picard smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Picard throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Picard keeps the fight on the outside.
Picard fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Chang tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Picard throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Chang on the side of the head.
A low kick from Chang is predictable there
and Picard counters with a good, hard body kick but Chang shrugs it off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Picard just misses with a punch to the body.
A little feinted left hand from Chang on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Chang throws a sloppy head kick and Picard moves out of range easily.
Picard throws out a powerful jab.
Chang blocks a head kick by Picard.
Chang throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Picard's head.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Picard misses with an uppercut.
Picard has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Picard lands a glancing blow to the side of Chang's head.
Picard throws a hook to the side of Chang's head but Chang sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Chang missing with a left hand there. Picard was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A big right from Picard misses.
Picard takes a jab right on the kisser.

Picard is rocked!
Chang lands a slapping body shot.
Picard is still on wobbly legs! Can Chang finish him?
Picard looks winded!
Picard switches off momentarily and Chang cracks him with a monster right hand! Picard topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Chang dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Chang!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:27 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bruce Chang!
An out of breath and clearly excited Bruce Chang thanked Conviction for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
In defeat, Jean Luc Picard stepped up to the mic, saying 'It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose. That is not weakness, that is life.'.
