Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, George Peterson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mohsin Zaidi!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Zaidi misses.
George Peterson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Peterson jabs at Zaidi's body.
Zaidi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Peterson misses with a wild body shot.
A big right from Zaidi misses.
Donk. Peterson catches Zaidi right on the button with a cross.

It looks like Mohsin Zaidi has been cut.
Peterson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Peterson works the jab nicely.
Peterson has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Peterson misses with a right hand
and Zaidi counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Zaidi looks to score with a jab to the body but Peterson is just out of range.
Peterson lands a nice hook to Zaidi's body. Zaidi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Peterson pushes Zaidi up against the cage in a clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Zaidi slows down the pace here.
Peterson tries to throw a body punch but Zaidi avoids it by throwing Peterson back against the cage.
A short uppercut from Peterson.

Zaidi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Zaidi lands with a light punch inside.

Zaidi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peterson pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Zaidi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Petersons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Peterson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Zaidi misses with a looping right.

Peterson takes the fight into the clinch.

Zaidi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Zaidi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Peterson works Zaidi's body with a nice hook.
Peterson tries to close the distance and clinch but Zaidi swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Zaidi throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Peterson moves into the clinch.

Peterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Zaidi swats away the attempt to clinch by Peterson.
Peterson looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Peterson tries to grapple but his opponent circles
enabling Zaidi to counter with a crisp jab.
Peterson tries to clinch but Zaidi moves away

and Zaidi counters with a head kick that drops Peterson to the mat! Peterson scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!
A jab lands there for Peterson.
BOOM! Peterson lands a beautiful left hook that drops Zaidi. Zaidi tries to recover but Peterson is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Zaidi lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). George Peterson!
George Peterson really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Aspire Clothing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
