Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Charles Kenway Jr (ranked 4370 p4p, 2573 weight class) and Chase Buchanan (ranked 243 p4p, 155 weight class). Chase Buchanan acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Charles Kenway Jr! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Chase Buchanan! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Patrick Alders and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Buchanan shoots for a double leg takedown but Kenway Jr sprawls well. He's pushed Buchanan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Buchanan fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Kenway Jr was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Buchanan misses with a takedown and Kenway Jr counters with a takedown into side control. Charles Kenway Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Buchanan. Kenway Jr misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Buchanan takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. You can see the frustration on Buchanan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Kenway Jr lands some shots froms side control. Kenway Jr working away. Buchanan is working to avoid the ground and pound but Kenway Jr connects with a decent elbow. Buchanan manages to get back to half guard. Kenway Jr not doing much here.
Kenway Jr is trying to control. Buchanan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kenway Jr stalling. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Kenway Jr drops an elbow to the side of Buchanan's head. Kenway Jr trying to control the action but Buchanan is working from the bottom. Nice strikes from Kenway Jr there. Kenway Jr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Buchanan on the ground. Kenway Jr trying to pass the guard but Buchanan defending well. Kenway Jr is working for a kimura but Buchanan is defending it quite comfortably.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Kenway Jr slips a nice elbow through Buchanan's hands, connecting with Buchanan's forehead. Buchanan trying to hold on to Kenway Jr's head to control him but Kenway Jr postures up.

Buchanan looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Buchanan wants to control but Kenway Jr is keeping busy and won't allow it. Kenway Jr winds up and cracks Buchanan with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Kenway Jr working the head and body with strikes. Buchanan looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Buchanan is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kenway Jr pulls his head out easily.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kenway Jr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kenway Jr scores with a couple of good hammerfists. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Kenway Jr takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Buchanan trying to get back to full guard but Kenway Jr takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Kenway Jr is in the full mount, landing strikes. Buchanan wants to hold on but Kenway Jr pushes him away. Kenway Jr cracks Buchanan with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Buchanan is rocked! Buchanan wants to control but Kenway Jr is having none of it. Buchanan is still in real trouble! Can Kenway Jr finish him? Kenway Jr is landing with some decent strikes but Buchanan is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Kenway Jr avoids the attempt from Buchanan to control. Kenway Jr definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Buchanan takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Kenway Jr's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Charles Kenway Jr! A relieved looking Charles Kenway Jr thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
