And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Zachary Neer Neer!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Bruno Lombardi and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rolf scores with a takedown into Neer's guard.
Neer keeping full guard, as Rolf tries to pass.
Neer is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Rolf defends well.
Neer trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
Rolf trying to control the position from guard on top but Neer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rolf is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Rolf wants to pass the guard but Neer is keeping the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rolf advances to half guard.

Rolf is trying to get an arm triangle but Neer is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Neer is desperately trying to improve his position but Rolf has a good base and remains in mount.
Rolf tries to control but Neer wriggling away.
Neer tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Neer felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
