Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Muhammad Jabbar!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 33 - 18 - 3, fighting out of London, Joe Smith!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Shigeki Sano and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Jabbar throws a head kick that misses
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jabbar gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Smith counters with a nice uppercut.
Jabbar looks to land a left hand but Smith moved out of range nicely.
Jabbar looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Smith tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Jabbar.
Smith looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Jabbar tried to score with a low kick but Smith checks it.
It seemed like Smith was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Smith keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jabbar.
Smith has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Jabbar connects with a right hand. Smith shakes it off.
Jabbar throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.

Jabbar cracks Smith with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Smith looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Jabbar finish him?

It looks like Joe Smith has been cut.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Jabbar bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Jabbar throws out a loose jab but Smith uses good head movement to avoid it.
Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jabbar throws a head kick that Smith semi-blocks.
Jabbar throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Smith checks a low kick from Jabbar.

Jabbar scores with a push kick.
Smith with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Jabbar to score with a decent uppercut.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Jabbar.

Smith staying out of range there.
Nice shot lands for Jabbar.
Jabbar throws a looping overhand right but Smith ducks down to avoid it.
A nice side step and Smith releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Muhammad Jabbar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jabbar tries a head kick but it misses.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Smith! But no joy.
Jabbar throws a lazy head kick
and Smith counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Muhammad Jabbar dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Joe Smith's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Jabbar fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Smith.
Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with each other but Smith might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Jabbar has got the better of the exchanges.

Smith appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.

and Smith counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Jabbar misses with an attempted mid kick.
Jabbar misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jabbar swings away with a leg kick that misses.

Jabbar throws a half hearted mid kick.
Smith looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jabbar connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Smith momentarily.
Jabbar throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Smith counter with a right hand.
Jabbar sizes up Smith with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Smith needs to keep his hands up - Jabbar had a free shot at his head there.

That has opened up Joe Smith's cut even more.

Jabbar throws a head kick but Smith moves out of range.
Smith tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Jabbar drops Smith with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Smith looks back up at him and smiles so Jabbar waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Smith is rocked!
Smith gets hit by the mother of all head kicks and drops to the canvas in a crumpled heap! Woooow, the Internet is going to be talking about this one for weeks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Muhammad Jabbar!
