PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tapu Koko (ranked 383 p4p, 1073 weight class) and Moritz Zimmerman (ranked 62 p4p, 165 weight class). Koko comes into the arena with Aotearoa blaring out of the sound system. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koko jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Zimmerman slips under a jab from Koko.
Zimmerman walks into a stiff left hand from Koko.

It looks like Moritz Zimmerman has been cut.
Koko throws a jab when Zimmerman was well out of range.
Koko throws a right hand that misses

so Zimmerman counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Zimmerman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Koko knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Zimmerman on the ground.
Zimmerman wants to pass the guard but Koko is keeping the position.
Koko has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Zimmerman accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Koko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Zimmerman forces his way into half guard.

Zimmerman has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Koko defend it? Zimmerman steps over the head and cranks it - Koko is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Zimmerman!
