The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Paulo.
A countering left hand to the body from Chapelle misses.
Chapelle throws a nice looking combination but Paulo bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A punch combination from Chapelle misses.

and Paulo counters with a straight right hand.
Chapelle throws a right and a left that both miss.

Paulo drives through with a takedown into guard.
Paulo pushes down on Chapelle's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Paulo wants to pass to mount but Chapelle is defending the position.
Paulo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Paulo slips a nice elbow through Chapelle's hands, connecting with Chapelle's forehead.

Chapelle has hold of Paulo's hands but Paulo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Paulo is nestled in close to Chapelle, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Paulo thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Chapelle's head.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Paulo connects with a nice short shot to Chapelle's temple.
Chapelle pushes Paulo off looking to stand but Paulo dives back in and keeps control.

Paulo winds up and cracks Chapelle with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Paulo scores with a big shot! Chapelle's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Chapelle! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
