Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Zhang Jun!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Damien Edna and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jun tries to sprawl but McKraken drives through with a takedown into half guard.
McKraken works his way into full mount!
McKraken lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
McKraken is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jun can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
McKraken lands a heavy elbow.

McKraken working for a submission but Jun is keeping him at bay.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McKraken avoids the attempt from Jun to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jun is looking to improve his position but McKraken isn't that keen on the idea.
Jun tries to lock up and control but McKraken gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Jun is in a horrible position here. McKraken smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
McKraken avoids the attempt from Jun to control.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!

Jun is in all sorts of trouble here.
McKraken is landing with some decent strikes but Jun is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
McKraken scores with a couple of good head shots there.
McKraken lands a couple of good shots and Jun has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Jun is trying to break free.
Jun grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
McKraken is punishing Jun with strikes - can he finish him?!
McKraken not allowing Jun to control his hands.
McKraken punishes Jun with strikes from the back mount.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McKraken has the hooks in. Jun is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
McKraken looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
McKraken lands strikes to the head.
McKraken lands with a hammerfist to the side of Jun's head.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - McKraken's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

Jun trying to control the position but McKraken manages to sink in the hooks.
Jun is really stuck here.

You can see the frustration on Jun's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Jun looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
McKraken landing with strikes.
I really don't envy Jun right now.
McKraken gets his hooks in and is throwing strikes.
Can Jun hold on?! McKraken is landing more strikes to his hapless foe.
McKraken lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
McKraken is punishing Jun with strikes - can he finish him?!

Jun defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of McKraken's arms.
McKraken has his opponent trapped and is landing shots. Not a good position for Jun.
McKraken has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
McKraken scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Jun is looking for a way out.
Jun wants to escape the position.

McKraken has his arm under Jun's chin here. Game over son! McKraken squeezes tightly and Jun is forced to tap out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Gemechu McKraken!
In his post fight interview, Gemechu McKraken started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
