Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between John Makres (ranked 4310 p4p, 1351 weight class) and Silent Bob (ranked 547 p4p, 204 weight class). Makres kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is SABATON - Coat of Arms. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Silent Bob!
The judges for this bout are Darius Henderson, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Makres shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bob as he avoids it easily.
Bob feints a counter leg kick.
Makres checks a leg kick.
Makres swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Bob misses with a leg kick
and Makres connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bob wants to clinch up but Makres keeps it at a distance.
Bob waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Makres.
Bob throws a solid leg kick but Makres takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Bob.
A telegraphed right hand from Bob misses the target.
It looked like Makres wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bob misses with an uppercut
and Makres counters with a nice uppercut.
Makres tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.
We've been informed that Bob has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Makres is looking for a counter combo.
Bob throws a jab but it's blocked by Makres.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Makres went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Bob throws a hook but Makres avoids it easily.
Bob scores with a jab to the body.

Makres takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Bob avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
An inside leg kick from Bob misses.
Makres ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Makres fires out a quick counter leg kick but Bob just manages to avoid it.
Nice defenses there by Makres.

Makres gets a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Makres blocking some punches.
Bob digs a right hand underneath Makres's ribcage. Makres let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Bob tries to work over Makres's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

Bob cracks Makres with a nice body shot.
Makres blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Bob throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Makress head.
Bob jumps guard but Makres turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Bob tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Makres smiles and moves away.
Bob lands with a hook. Makres tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Bob misses with a straight right.
Nice body punch from Bob.
Bob throws a poor cross that misses
and Makres counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Bob feints and then cracks Makres's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Makres down.
Bob ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Bob throws a front kick aimed at Makres's knee but Makres avoids it well.
As Bob backs away, Makres returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Makres fails in his attempt to clinch.
Bob throws a nice outside leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

and Makres holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Bob lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bob throws a low kick, looking for Makres's leg but Makres calmly moves out of range.
Bob tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Makres is able to avoid easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Bob is letting Makres control him for a moment.
Bob manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Bob tries to roll over but Makres keeps him under control.
Makres seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Bob is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Makres decides to stand up, so the ref orders Bob to his feet.

Silent Bob is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
