Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Landon Ford (ranked 893 p4p, 564 weight class) and Darren Dixon (ranked 96 p4p, 61 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Landon Ford! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darren Dixon! The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Hugh Johnson and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ford throws a wild body kick that Dixon sees coming a mile off. Dixon is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Ford listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut. Ford on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot. Dixon stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Ford. Ford scores with a push kick. Dixon has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Ford lands a nice hook to Dixon's body. Dixon takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Ford lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Ford. Dixon bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Ford falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Dixon to counter with a crisp jab. Dixon lands with a shot to the body. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Ford lands a body shot.
Dixon throws an overhand right that lands on Ford's shoulder, as Ford tries to avoid the shot. Dixon avoids a kick to the body.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. We've been told by Ford's head coaches at Heartless Team that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Dixon dodges the punch combination from Ford.
Dixon looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Ford misses with a body kick. Ford looks to land a body kick but Dixon moved away. Dixon lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Dixon looks to throw the jab but Ford is out of range. It looked like Ford was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Ford connects with a good right hand that stumbles Dixon. Dixon circles away out of range and recomposes himself. Dixon lands a lovely overhand right. Dixon uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ford. Ford throws a body kick that misses. A jab from Ford does it's job there. Dixon ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Ford connects with an inside leg kick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Ford misses with a double jab
enabling Dixon to counter with a crisp jab.
Ford is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ford scores with a shot to the body.
Ford lands a lovely overhand right. Ford clobbers Dixon with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Dixon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ford tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Dixon is in Ford's guard. Dixon is standing up over Ford. Ford looks to escape but Dixon dives into side control.
Oh Ford is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Ford tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Dixon wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Ford is not content to let Dixon control the position. Ford seems to have got his legs back now. Ford is looking to regain half guard here but Dixon keeps moving and retains side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dixon advances to mount. Dixon takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Dixon is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ford to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ford shrugs it off. Dixon wants to take Ford's back but he can't do it this time. Ford is desperately trying to improve his position but Dixon has a good base and remains in mount. Dixon controlling the pace for now. Ford is squirming around, avoiding Dixon's attempts to control the action.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dixon seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Ford is holding on tight.
Ford is in all sorts of trouble here.
Dixon controlling the position easily from mount. Dixon looking to control but Ford is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Landon Ford will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Dixon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Ford. Dixon is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Ford with a body shot. Ford is looking to score with low kicks. Dixon defending well as Ford loads up on a big left hand. Dixon tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ford sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dixon somewhat. Ford thinks about countering with a head kick. Dixon checks a low kick from Ford. Landon Ford seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Ford throws a mid kick that lands with a slap. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Dixon checks a leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ford misses with a few strikes there.
Ford connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son. A jab from Ford misses. Dixon takes one to the chin there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dixon moves away from the strike by Ford. Ford jabbing away but nothing is landing. Dixon appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. Dixon misses with a body shot.
Dixon fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Ford throws a big counter combination but Dixon scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage. A telegraphed right hand from Dixon misses the target. Ford is looking to counter punch. Ford throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Ford misses the jab. Dixon dives in and grabs Ford's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ford pushes down on Dixon's head and hops out. Landon Ford has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Darren Dixon. Ford looks to throw a body kick and Dixon counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Dixon wants to pass to mount but Ford is defending the position. Ford is looking to control Dixon's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Ford avoid being mounted?
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dixon seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Ford is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Darren Dixon! Darren Dixon decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
