Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Grigoriy Petrov (ranked 782 p4p, 891 weight class) and Rasmus Reedtz (ranked 100 p4p, 120 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Grigoriy Petrov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rasmus Reedtz!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Petrov.
A nice leg kick from Petrov, right into the meat of the thigh.

Reedtz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Reedtz lands in his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Petrov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reedtz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Petrov lands with a good body shot.

Petrov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Reedtz has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Petrov finds it's way round the side to connect with Reedtz's head.
Petrov gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Reedtz.
Petrov throws a shot from downtown. Reedtz moves away and avoids it.
Petrov stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Reedtz lands with a hook. Petrov tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Petrov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Reedtz was well out of range. Poor timing from Petrov.
Reedtz darts in looking for a takedown but Petrov gets double underhooks and turns Reedtz into the cage.

Reedtz shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Petrov napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Reedtz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
You can see the frustration on Petrov's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Petrov is looking to regain half guard here but Reedtz keeps moving and retains side control.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Grigoriy Petrov will probably get the nod.
That's time! Petrov's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Petrov comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Reedtz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Petrov defends well and Reedtz ends up having to push Petrov into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Petrov turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Petrov feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Reedtzs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The crowd cheers as Petrov lands an impressive looking overhand right. Reedtz doesn't seem phased though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
