Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bardia Farrokhzad (ranked 946 p4p, 1606 weight class) and Bernie Sanders (ranked 57 p4p, 92 weight class). Farrokhzad comes to the cage accompanied by Iranian Baloch - This Is A Catch. Sanders has chosen Shooter Gang as his entrance music. On his way into the cage it seems that Bardia Farrokhzad has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Bardia Farrokhzad seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Bernie Sanders!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanders shoots in and drives through. Farrokhzad sprawls well.

Farrokhzad has closed the distance and engaged Sanders in a clinch.
Farrokhzad gets through Sanders's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Sanders is looking for a takedown.
Sanders goes for a takedown attempt but Farrokhzad pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Bardia Farrokhzad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bernie Sanders.
Sanders takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Farrokhzad lands a right hook to the body.

Sanders shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Farrokhzad napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Farrokhzad's coaches at Marty Robbin's Fight Ranch have been working on his defensive grappling in preparation for this fight so let's see if he can get out of this tricky position.

Sanders has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at MY YARD Resurrect. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Farrokhzad is looking to reverse the position.

Sanders wants to work for an arm triangle but Farrokhzad is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Sanders seems to be working for a kimura but Farrokhzad defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Farrokhzad keeping hold of Sanders's head, controlling as best he can.

Farrokhzad regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Sanders.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Farrokhzad is on top in guard.

Farrokhzad got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sanders has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Farrokhzad has managed to get both his arms back between Sanders's legs - danger averted.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Farrokhzad keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Sanders's head.

Sanders is rocked!

Farrokhzad postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Sanders working for a triangle but Farrokhzad defends it easily.
Farrokhzad gets to his feet and stands over Sanders, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Sanders felt that one! Farrokhzad unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Sanders from any more punishment!

An out of breath Bardia Farrokhzad thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
