Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wilmerr Fudd (ranked 690 p4p, 782 weight class) and Dan Averescu (ranked 104 p4p, 122 weight class). Averescu has chosen Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle as his entrance music. Dan Averescu will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Wilmerr Fudd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dan Averescu!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fudd shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Averescu's guard.
Fudd is working Averescu over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Fudd has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Fudd slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Averescu can't do much from the bottom here.

The ground and pound from Fudd seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Averescu takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Averescu's face as Fudd controls the position.
Averescu tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
Fudd lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Fudd postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Averescu looks a forlorn figure.

It looks like Dan Averescu has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Averescu is wriggling around trying to escape.
Fudd unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Averescu wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Fudd celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wilmerr Fudd!
Wilmerr Fudd decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
