Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gorilla Grodd (ranked 2572 p4p, 2558 weight class) and Johnny Albatross (ranked 151 p4p, 150 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gorilla Grodd!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Johnny Albatross!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and John Roberts.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Albatross swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Albatross walks into a left hand.
Grodd misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Albatross connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Albatross takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Albatross scores with a kick to the body.

Grodd moves into the clinch.
Grodd misses with a punch to the body.
Albatross lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Grodd or not.
Still in the clinch, Albatross scores with a nice short uppercut.
Grodd tries to pull guard but Albatross won't allow it.
Grodd tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Albatross smiles and moves away.
Grodd uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Albatross.

Albatross misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Grodd.

Grodd jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Albatross walks away with a smile on his face. Grodd gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gorilla Grodd. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Grodd uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Albatross has time to react.

and Albatross counters with a nice right hand that sends Grodd toppling to the canvas! Grodd scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Albatross finish him?!

Grodd looks to score with a jab to the body but Albatross is just out of range.

Grodd ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Albatross moves away.
Grodd misses with a looping right.
Grodd takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Albatross throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Grodd tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Gorilla Grodd seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Albatross scores with a jab to the jaw.
Grodd gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Albatross gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Johnny Albatross!
Johnny Albatross decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
