Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 22 - 8 - 2, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darwin Budluvski! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Brawler! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Shigeki Fujiwara and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Budluvski throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Brawler sees it coming and avoids it easily. Brawler steps in looking to counter with the mid kick but it doesn't connect. Brawler scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Budluvski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Brawler throws a series of punches but Budluvski avoids them all with ease. Brawler connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Budluvski momentarily.
Budluvski misses with a hook. Brawler ducked under it nicely. Budluvski backing away here, and Brawler unleashes a leg kick that just misses. Brawler turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Budluvski takes one to the side of the head.
Brawler buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Brawler misses with an uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Brawler scoring well with a low kick there.
Budluvski wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Brawler throws a right hand that misses
and Budluvski counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Brawler moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot. Bobby Brawler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Budluvski avoids the body shot from Brawler.
A big left from Budluvski misses. Budluvski throws a body shot but no joy. Brawler replies with a solid counter kick to the body but Budluvski blocks it well. A looping hook to the body misses from Brawler. Budluvski does a little dance to reset his feet. Brawler ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Brawler misses with a lunging right hand
and Budluvski counters with a nice right hand that sends Brawler toppling to the canvas! Brawler scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Budluvski finish him?!
Brawler is rocked! Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Budluvski swings widly with a right hand
and Brawler counters with a straight right hand. Brawler is still on wobbly legs! Can Budluvski finish him? Budluvski sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Brawler's defenses. It connects perfectly with Brawler's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
