Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rene Lafayette (ranked 88 p4p, 241 weight class) and Demetrius Jackson (ranked 17 p4p, 40 weight class). Lafayette comes into the arena with Erasure - Always blaring out of the sound system. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rene Lafayette!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Demetrius Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Percy O'Donnell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a leg kick but Lafayette sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Lafayette attempts a counter takedown but Jackson avoids it well and moves away.
Lafayette looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Jackson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Lafayette has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Jackson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Lafayette will feel that in the morning.
Jackson lands a nice hook to Lafayette's body. Lafayette takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Lafayette tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Jackson defends well and Lafayette ends up having to push Jackson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Demetrius Jackson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lafayette shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Lafayette's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Jackson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Lafayette checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jackson lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lafayette has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lafayette and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Jackson wants to improve his position, back to half guard but Lafayette has ideas of his own. He's got hold of Jackson's far side arm and it looks like he's got an Americana. Ohh! Ohhhh! OOOOOOOOOH! A human being's arm is not meant to bend like that! Jackson is tapping like a morse code operator on the Titanic! SOS SOS! He's out of here! Great win for Lafayette!

A less than humble Rene Lafayette misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
The defeated Demetrius Jackson had this to say: '6.0 granite, doesnt cut or get injured'.
