Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hawk (ranked 901 p4p, 1038 weight class) and Wilhelm Bar (ranked 136 p4p, 155 weight class). Wilhelm Bar acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ethan Hawk!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Wilhelm Bar!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bar staying out of range there.
Bar drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Hawk defends it well.
Hawk throws a looping overhand right but Bar ducks down to avoid it.
Bar thinks about the counter body kick.
Hawk misses with a looping right.
And Bar tries to counter it with a takedown but Hawk pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bar shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hawk as he jumps to the side.
Hawk tries a low kick but Bar avoids it.
Some wild striking there from Hawk.
Bar feints the counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawk misses with an uppercut.
Bar tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bar is defended easily by Hawk.
Hawk has been working on his boxing with his coaches at CT in the buildup to the fight.
Ethan Hawk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bar drives through with a takedown into Hawk's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Bar postures up in Hawk's guard and throws a big left but Hawk blocks it.
Hawk is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hawk working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Bar.
Bar throws a big elbow that misses.
Bar has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bar drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hawk looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hawk looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hawk!

Bar is looking for a sweep.
Hawk slows the pace down.
Bar is looking to reverse the position.
Bar sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Bar tries to get to full guard but Hawk has control of the leg.
Bar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bar wants to get back to full guard but Hawk has passed into side control.
Bar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hawk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bar keeps trying to improve his position.
Bar felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
The referee asks Hawk politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Hawk prefers to stall for the moment though.
Bar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hawk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bar being controlled for a moment.
Bar is looking for a sweep.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Hawk staying calm.
Bar is looking to regain half guard here but Hawk keeps moving and retains side control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Ethan Hawk will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hawk gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Bar tries to score a body lock takedown but Hawk shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Hawk lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Bar looking for a takedown.
Hawk scores with a shoulder strike.
Bar fails to pull guard.
Ethan Hawk has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wilhelm Bar.
Hawk tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Bar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Hawk pulls him back up using the underhooks.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hawk tries to throw a body punch but Bar avoids it by throwing Hawk back against the cage.
Hawk gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Bar.
Hawk lands a shoulder strike.

Hawk pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hawk slaps away a takedown attempt from Bar, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Bar backs away, Hawk returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Hawk drops Bar with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Bar looks back up at him and smiles so Hawk waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Bar is rocked!
Hawk is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bar can do to turn this around?
Bar closes this distance looking for a takedown but Hawk circles away.
Bar is still on wobbly legs! Can Hawk finish him?
Hawk moves in close and cracks Bar with a massive right hand! Bar, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Hawk!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ethan Hawk!
An out of breath Ethan Hawk thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
