Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Percy O'Donnell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slow jab from Escobar misses its intended target.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Escobar has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Escobar closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Shipilov's guard.
Escobar wants to control from the top but Shipilov keeps moving.
Shipilov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Shipilov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Escobar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Escobar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shipilov looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Escobar has picked Shipilov up and slammed him! Shipilov can't keep hold of the triangle and Escobar manages to pass to side control!

Shipilov is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Escobar gets his way!
Escobar is working for a rear naked choke. Shipilov is not defending it well and Escobar has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Shipilov refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Shipilov's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
