Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Beau Abner (ranked 134 p4p, 1143 weight class) and Jimmy King (ranked 21 p4p, 152 weight class). Beau Abner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Beau Abner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jimmy King! The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Yuuki Gou and Ren Mimura.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! King keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Abner lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. King avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Abner avoids a lazy jab quite easily. Abner throws a hook to the side of King's head but King sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. A nice side step and King releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home. Jimmy King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Abner throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. King scores with a sloppy right hand. Abner should have avoided that one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. King takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Abner looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. King manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Abner on his heels. He'll look to pass Abner's guard now, I'm sure.

Abner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. King is looking to work some ground and pound but Abner has wrist control. Abner throws a body shot but no joy. King appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body. King thuds a left hand into Abner's body. Abner scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. King doesn't seem bothered though. Abner tests King's chin there with a solid looking shot. Abner misses with a body shot.

Abner tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but King wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. King in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! King throwing shots but missing, from side control. The ground and pound from King seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. Abner can't do much from the bottom here. Check out the look on King's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!

That was a close second round but I would say that Beau Abner will probably get the nod. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. King does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. King throws a right hand that misses
and Abner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Abner is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. King takes a swing at Abner's ribcage but misses. King slips a jab from Abner. King slips under a jab. Abner slips under a jab. A chopping leg kick lands by Abner. King trying to control the position from guard on top but Abner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. King missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Jab, jab by Abner - just one landing. It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Abner here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A big left from Abner misses. King is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Abner lands a big head kick that sends King tumbling to the mat! Abner takes a step backwards and waves King back to his feet - he wants the finish! King is still on wobbly legs! Can Abner finish him? Abner missing with a left hand there. King was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. King seems to have recovered his senses. King takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Abner shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. King eats them both and turns towards Abner to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Abner lands a big uppercut and King crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but King looks OK. Abner waves King back to his feet! King fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Abner throwing a counter right hand but King manages to avoid it. King moves out of range as Abner strikes. King steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Abner. This has been an exciting period of action! King fails with the takedown. Abner was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Abner is fending him off so far but King persists. Nope, Abner circles away and we're back to standing. Beau Abner has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jimmy King. King uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Abner. King throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Abner counters with a straight right hand. King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Abner scores with a punch to the head. Jimmy King has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Abner lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
And that's the end of the fight! Beau Abner showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Abner, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
