Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Barry McCockiner (ranked 933 p4p, 899 weight class) and Ruben Ruiz Mangas (ranked 138 p4p, 135 weight class). McCockiner comes into the arena with Farewell to Cheyenn blaring out of the sound system. Mangas comes into a darkened arena with his song building. I'm a Soldier kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 12 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Barry McCockiner! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Ruiz Mangas! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big left from McCockiner misses. McCockiner misses with a lunging right hand
and Mangas counters with a straight right hand. McCockiner fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Mangas manages to avoid it. Mangas misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from McCockiner.
McCockiner was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. A punch combination from McCockiner misses. McCockiner misses the shot to the body. Mangas looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it. Mangas looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. McCockiner throws a hook but Mangas avoids it easily. Mangas moves out of range of the strikes. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mangas lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Mangas lands with a shot to the body. Mangas scores with a decent looking hook.
It looks like Barry McCockiner has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mangas takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away. McCockiner looks to land a combination but Mangas avoids it well. A big right from McCockiner misses. McCockiner throws a lazy body kick and Mangas counters with a single leg into guard. McCockiner didn't expect that. Mangas trying to control the position from guard on top but McCockiner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mangas trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mangas controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Mangas wants to control from the top but McCockiner keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McCockiner keeping full guard, as Mangas tries to pass. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mangas wants to control from the top but McCockiner keeps moving.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. McCockiner connects with a looping right hand.
It looks like Ruben Ruiz Mangas has been cut. Mangas misses with a head kick.
Nice shot lands for McCockiner. Barry McCockiner is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McCockiner throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Mangas stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McCockiner with a jab. A looping hook to the body misses from McCockiner. Mangas does a little dance to reset his feet. And Mangas responds with a good body kick, but McCockiner manages to step out the way in time. Mangas misses with a lunging right hand
and McCockiner counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Mangas looks up at the clock. Bad move! McCockiner lands a right hand from hell, dropping Mangas. McCockiner pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.
