Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cesar Perez (ranked 6538 p4p, 4356 weight class) and Darius Thibodeaux (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Perez comes to the cage accompanied by Gangsta's Paradise. Darius Thibodeaux has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Cesar Perez's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cesar Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Darius Thibodeaux! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Perez shoots for a double leg takedown but Thibodeaux sprawls well. He's pushed Perez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Thibodeaux drives through and clinches with Perez against the cage.
Perez tries for a takedown. No joy.
Perez is trying to pull guard but Thibodeaux has him pressed against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cesar Perez. That's going to take a lot out of him. Perez has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Thibodeaux avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Thibodeaux landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Perez keeping moving, preventing Thibodeaux from controlling successfully. Thibodeaux is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Thibodeaux must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Thibodeaux got a little sloppy there for a moment and Perez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Thibodeaux has managed to get both his arms back between Perez's legs - danger averted. Perez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Perez looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Thibodeaux is defending well. Perez quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Thibodeaux has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Perez celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
