PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darsin Bleak (ranked 167 p4p, 294 weight class) and Zee Land (ranked 24 p4p, 40 weight class). Land has chosen For Heavy Metal we will die! as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Darsin Bleak!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Zee Land!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Land jabs at Bleak's body.
Bleak with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Land to score with a decent uppercut.
Bleak chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Land can pounce on him.
Bleak bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Land misses with a wild body shot.
Bleak throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bleak slips a straight right by Land.
Bleak has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Bleak bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
