Rivera's entrance music is BAD COMPANY. A fine choice. Strasburg is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Red - Chevelle. Malcolm Rivera has the better chin. And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Patrick Strasburg!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Strasburg fails to land with a series of punches.
It looked like Rivera was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Strasburg tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rivera sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Strasburg somewhat.
Rivera throws out a loose jab but Strasburg uses good head movement to avoid it.
Strasburg moves in looking to clinch but Rivera pushes him off.
Strasburg throws a one two combo.
Rivera stuffs the takedown attempt from Strasburg. Strasburg gets slowly back to his feet.
Rivera was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Strasburg shoots in looking for a takedown. Rivera tries to sprawl out of it but Strasburg keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Rivera manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Malcolm Rivera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Strasburg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Strasburg throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Rivera appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

A quick step to the side and Rivera tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
A nice inside leg kick there by Rivera. That's going to slow Strasburg down.
Strasburg is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Strasburg tries for a takedown but Rivera circles away easily
and Rivera counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Rivera misses with a hook. Strasburg ducked under it nicely.
Strasburg throws a right hand that Rivera ducks under and follows up with a left that Rivera also avoids with ease.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivera tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Strasburg is able to avoid easily.
Nice shot lands for Rivera.

Strasburg feints the counter takedown.
Strasburg misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Strasburg shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Rivera counters with a lovely shot to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
BOOM! Rivera lands a beautiful left hook that drops Strasburg. Strasburg tries to recover but Rivera is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Strasburg lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
