Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deividas Vilkas (ranked 2461 p4p, 3031 weight class) and Art Bowers (ranked 311 p4p, 382 weight class). Vilkas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fortunate Son. Art Bowers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Deividas Vilkas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Art Bowers!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, James Glass and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowers will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bowers lands with a straight right. Vilkas didn't see that one coming.
Bowers lands a nice hook to Vilkas's body. Vilkas takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Bowers throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vilkas.
A slow jab from Bowers misses its intended target.
Bowers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
It looked like Vilkas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bowers dips to his left and cracks Vilkas with an uppercut!
A big left from Bowers misses.
Vilkas is looking to counter punch.
Bowers throws a lazy right hand but Vilkas sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bowers misses with a hook. Vilkas ducked under it nicely.

Vilkas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

It looks like Art Bowers has been cut.

Bowers sizes up Vilkas with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
A big left from Bowers misses.
Bowers throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
It looked like Vilkas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

As Bowers backs away, Vilkas returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Bowers jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Vilkas swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Vilkas does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bowers lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bowers. Vilkas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vilkas was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bowers tries a low kick but Vilkas avoids it.
Vilkas dips to his left and cracks Bowers with an uppercut!

Bowers throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Bowers misses with a hook.
Vilkas jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit.
Art Bowers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bowers throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bowers attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
A nice inside leg kick there by Bowers. That's going to slow Vilkas down.
Bowers tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vilkas tried to counter with a leg kick but Bowers avoided it.

Vilkas cracks Bowers with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Vilkas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Bowers to stand back up!
A shot to the body from Vilkas misses
and Bowers connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Vilkas lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bowers has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bowers and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Vilkas crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bowers - the referee stops the clock and Vilkas gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bowers. Vilkas manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Vilkas is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Bowers.
Vilkas throws a hook to the side of Bowers's head but Bowers sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Bowers misses with a straight right.
Vilkas throws a wild body kick that Bowers sees coming a mile off.
Bowers throws a hook but Vilkas blocks it.
Bowers just manages to avoid a counter high kick fromVilkas.

Bowers lands a glancing blow to the side of Vilkas's head.
Vilkas closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Bowers misses with an uppercut. Vilkas saw that one coming.
A little feinted left hand from Vilkas on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Some bone on bone action there as Bowers checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Vilkas steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Bowers. That one must have hurt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bowers. Vilkas does a little dance to reset his feet.
Bowers misses with an uppercut. Vilkas saw that one coming.
No joy there for Bowers, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Vilkas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bowers manages to avoid it.
Bowers thows a left - swing and a miss!
Vilkas avoids the head kick by Bowers.
The fighters circling - Bowers throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Vilkas was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
Bowers moves out of range as Vilkas strikes.
Bowers throws out a counter right but Vilkas avoids it with no problem.
Bowers is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Vilkas had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.
Bowers fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Vilkas has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

and Vilkas counters with a straight that turns Bowers's legs to rubber! Vilkas pushes forward with more strikes and Bowers goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!

During a confident post fight interview, Deividas Vilkas thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
