Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ko Van Den Born (ranked 174 p4p, 129 weight class) and Sergey Shipilov (ranked 23 p4p, 16 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ko Van Den Born! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergey Shipilov! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Ben Hemmingworth and Steve Erwin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The fighters circling - Van Den Born throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Van Den Born moves into range and connects with a jab. Shipilov misses with an uppercut. Van Den Born saw that one coming. Van Den Born tries a low kick but Shipilov avoids it. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Van Den Born - that will leave a mark!
Van Den Born keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Van Den Born. Shipilov slips a jab from Van Den Born. Van Den Born catches Shipilov with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
It looks like Sergey Shipilov has been cut. Shipilov blocks the body kick.
Van Den Born throws a quick inside leg kick. Shipilov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Van Den Born. Shipilov now looks to counter with a shot at the body. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Van Den Born loads up on a big right hand but Shipilov slips the punch. Shipilov feints a counter leg kick. Ko Van Den Born seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Van Den Born is looking to land body kicks. Van Den Born misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling Shipilov to counter with a crisp jab.
It looks like Ko Van Den Born has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Van Den Born throws a lazy right hand but Shipilov sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Shipilov cracks Van Den Born with a right hand to the side of the head. That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shipilov crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Van Den Born - the referee stops the clock and Shipilov gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Van Den Born. Shipilov manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Van Den Born throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Shipilov counters with a lovely straight right hand! Van Den Born throws an overhand right that lands on Shipilov's shoulder, as Shipilov tries to avoid the shot. Shipilov is clearly looking to counter with head kicks. Van Den Born throws a big shot that misses. Van Den Born misses with a lunging right hand
and Shipilov counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Van Den Born!
Van Den Born is rocked! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Shipilov is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Shipilov decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Van Den Born misses with a hook
and Shipilov counters with a two punch combo. Oh Van Den Born is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Shipilov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Van Den Born counters with a nice uppercut. Van Den Born seems to have got his legs back now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Van Den Born throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shipilov. Van Den Born moves out of the way of the counter high kick fromShipilov. Van Den Born connects with a jab. Shipilov lands a brutal head kick. Van Den Born looks out on his feet and Shipilov throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:20 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Sergey Shipilov! Our winner, Sergey Shipilov, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
