Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ed Green (ranked 254 p4p, 1119 weight class) and Aaron Tate Jr (ranked 32 p4p, 149 weight class). Aaron Tate Jr acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 17 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Green! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Tate Jr! The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, Skip Squint and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tate Jr looks to land a right hand but Green moved out of range. Green shoots in for a takedown but Tate Jr shows good takedown defense. Tate Jr stuffs the takedown. No luck with that takedown attempt from Green. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ed Green. That's going to take a lot out of him. Tate Jr jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Green fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tate Jr to the ground. Green is now in Tate Jr's guard. Tate Jr is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Green is controlling him. Green wants to control from the top but Tate Jr keeps moving. Green tries to free his leg and advance position but Tate Jr is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Green stops Tate Jr from standing up. Tate Jr looking to hit a scissor sweep but Green is one step ahead there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Green stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Tate Jr swivels though and keeps the full guard. Tate Jr controlling Green's posture. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tate Jr can do anything to dispel that myth. Green controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Aaron Tate Jr is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tate Jr tries to sprawl but Green drives through with a takedown into half guard. Green is looking to advance position but Tate Jr won't allow it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Green is working hard here to advance position. Green trying to control the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Green wants to pass to mount but Tate Jr is defending the position. Tate Jr has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Black Swans. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one. Tate Jr has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Green is working away from the top position though. Green with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tate Jr is defending against the submission attempts here by Green.
Green is looking to advance position but Tate Jr won't allow it. Tate Jr makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Tate Jr. Green thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Green trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Tate Jr manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tate Jr wants to control from the top but Green keeps moving. Tate Jr wants to stand but Green has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Green looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Green has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Tate Jr doesn't defend quickly enough and Green has managed to lock this one up! Can Tate Jr escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Green on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Ed Green! Ed Green gave a mention to Groove Gear in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
