Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Martin Drop (ranked 2685 p4p, 5317 weight class) and Frank Greene (ranked 87 p4p, 186 weight class). Greene has chosen Bump by KOTTONMOUTH KINGS as his entrance music. Martin Drop has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Martin Drop! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Frank Greene! The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Greene throws a body punch but Drop moves out of range. Drop fires out a quick counter leg kick but Greene just manages to avoid it. Drop misses with an uppercut. Greene saw that one coming. Drop works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Greene looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Drop lands a high kick!
A nice inside leg kick there by Drop. That's going to slow Greene down. Drop fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Greene. Greene closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Drop definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Drop dodges the ground and pound from Greene. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Greene seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Drop has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Drop misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Greene manages to work his way to half guard, despite Drop's best efforts. Greene wants to control but Drop is keeping busy.

Greene has Drop pulled in close to control his posture. Greene avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Drop scoring with some ground and pound. Greene looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drop is one step ahead there. Drop throwing strikes from guard but Greene blocks nicely. Greene is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Greene striking off his back but it's not causing Drop any problems. Greene looking to hit a scissor sweep but Drop is one step ahead there. Greene is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Drop is aware though and is defending well. Greene looking for a guillotine here but Drop defends easily.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. Greene takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Drop fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Drop steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Greene. Greene tries to score a power double leg takedown but Drop sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Greene somewhat. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Martin Drop will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Martin Drop's cut. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Drop lands a leg kick that knocks Greene off balance momentarily. Greene shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Drop manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Greene throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Greene postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Greene stands up over Drop, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Greene accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Greene looking to sit in guard and control but Drop gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Greene is trying to control the position but Drop postures up. Greene keeping full guard, as Drop tries to pass. Greene looking to control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drop advances position into side control! Drop working away. Greene tries to improve position but can't. Greene is still trying to improve position. Greene can't do much from the bottom here. The strikes coming from Drop are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Drop postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Drop working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Drop working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Greene is looking to regain half guard here but Drop keeps moving and retains side control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drop lands an elbow. Greene tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Drop easily slips into full mount! Drop throws some wild stikes that Greene manages to avoid easily.
Greene is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Drop sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it! Greene working to try and regain half guard.
Drop throwing strikes but Greene bucks up and reverses the position. He's now in guard on top. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Greene postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Drop is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Greene wants to control from the top but Drop keeps moving. Greene trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Drop working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Greene. Greene is working Drop over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Greene distracts Drop with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Greene throwing strikes but missing. Greene must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Drop preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Greene throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Drop with a nice calf kick. Greene shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Drop pinned against the cage. Drop gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Martin Drop is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Greene looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Drop connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Greene misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Drop.
Drop fakes the leg kick and cracks Greene in the body. Drop throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Drop bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Drop tried to counter with a leg kick but Greene avoided it. Greene walks forward, straight into a front kick from Drop. Drop moves out of range of the strikes. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Drop - that will leave a mark!
Greene takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. A head kick from Drop lands but Greene takes it in his stride. Greene's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Greene fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Martin Drop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frank Greene. Drop lands a nice leg kick that just misses Greene's sensitive parts. Drop swings for the body but Greene moves out of range.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Martin Drop. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Drop, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent.
