Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jan Nowak (ranked 4706 p4p, 4243 weight class) and Martins Verdins (ranked 101 p4p, 154 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jan Nowak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Martins Verdins! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yuuki Gou and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Verdins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nowak tries to avoid it but Verdins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nowak to the ground. Nowak escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Nowak gets the takedown into side control. Nowak throws an elbow but Verdins slips to the side and avoids it well. Nowak tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Nowak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Verdins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nowak scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Verdins to see if he's OK. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Nowak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Verdins is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Nowak is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Verdins knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Nowak working the head and body with strikes. Verdins wants to get back to his feet but Nowak drags him back down. Nowak thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Verdins is trying to control Nowak's posture but Nowak avoids it. We've been hearing that Nowak has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Nowak wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Verdins, who protects the arm well.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nowak swings around for an armbar but Verdins sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nowak's guard. Nowak throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Verdins escapes and throws Nowak's legs to the side, diving into side control! Nowak is looking for a sweep. Nowak is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Verdins off and has taken his back! Nowak avoiding Verdins 's attempts to control his hands. Nowak has managed to slip his arm under Verdins's chin. This could be all over... yep, Verdins is tapping out! Submission win for Nowak.
