Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nino Babel (ranked 1711 p4p, 2868 weight class) and Bowser Bigalow (ranked 234 p4p, 373 weight class). Nino Babel has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Nino Babel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bowser Bigalow!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Babel tries to clinch but Bigalow is having none of it.
Babel is looking to clinch but Bigalow is avoiding it.
Bigalow misses with a looping left.
Babel closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Donk. Bigalow catches Babel right on the button with a cross.
Good standup being displayed there by Bigalow as he connects with a hook.
Bigalow dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Babel has his takedown stuffed
and Bigalow connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babel bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Babel working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Bigalow is looking for a sweep.
Bigalow wants to control but Babel postures up.
Bigalow is not content to let Babel control the position.
Bigalow is looking to regain half guard here but Babel keeps moving and retains side control.
Bigalow manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Babel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Bigalow defends it well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bigalow is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Babel's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Babel's back!

You can see the frustration on Babel's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Bigalow gets his hands free as Babel looks to control.

Bigalow gets back to his feet - a bit of a stange decision given the position he was in.
Bigalow scores with the left hand. Babel knows he should have avoided that one.

Bigalow throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Babel changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Bigalow darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Bigalow cracks Babel with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Bigalow scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bigalow throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Babel sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Bigalow avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bigalow looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Babel shoots for a double leg takedown but Bigalow sprawls well. He's pushed Babel's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Babel takes a swing at Bigalow's ribcage but misses.
A little jabbing left from Bigalow on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Bowser Bigalow dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Babel attempts a counter takedown but Bigalow avoids it well and moves away.
Babel looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Bigalow is fending him off so far but Babel persists. Nope, Bigalow circles away and we're back to standing.

Bigalow gets tackled into the cage by Babel. Babel maintains the clinch.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Good body shot from Bigalow.
Babel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bigalow to keep the fight standing.
Bigalow has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Bigalow makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Bigalow stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Bigalow scores with a hook to the body.
Bigalow effectively controlling the action here.
Bigalow lands with a short head shot on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Babel tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Bigalow smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nino Babel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Babel shoots in looking for a takedown. Bigalow tries to sprawl out of it but Babel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Bigalow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Bigalow misses with a straight right.
Bigalow avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bigalow, as that shot connected.
Bigalow throws out a loose jab but Babel uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bigalow bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Babel takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Bigalow throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bigalow waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Babel.
Babel drops his hands momentarily and Bigalow takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nice shot lands for Bigalow.
Babel tries for a takedown but Bigalow circles away easily

and Bigalow counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bigalow wants to get up but he can't break Babel's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Bigalow stands up from Babel's guard - Bigalow perhaps looking for a knockout.
Bigalow cracks Babel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Babel doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Bigalow counter with a right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Babel gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Bigalow gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:07 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Bowser Bigalow!
