Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Derek Trucks (ranked 2356 p4p, 2243 weight class) and Kazimir Yakov (ranked 335 p4p, 0 weight class). Trucks's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Lost without you. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 27 - 19 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derek Trucks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Kazimir Yakov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Igor Prikhodko and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakov tries to clinch there but Trucks circles away.
Trucks bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Trucks checks a leg kick.
Trucks seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Yakov's coach down at McGrady FT was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Yakov's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Trucks tries to bum rush Yakov with a series of wild strikes but Yakov uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Yakov pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
As Yakov looks to move away, Trucks throws a big counter combo but Yakov just gets out of the way.
Yakov stuffs the takedown.
Trucks looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

It looks like Derek Trucks has been cut.
Yakov jabs at Trucks's body.
A solid leg kick lands there for Yakov.
Yakov fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Trucks is out of range.
Trucks wants to clinch up but Yakov keeps it at a distance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Trucks gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Yakov gets caught flat footed, as Trucks shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Trucks throws a strike but Yakov rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Trucks looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Yakov gets to his feet - Trucks follows without any prompting.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Yakov connects with a jab.
Yakov throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Yakov throws a lazy right hand but Trucks sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Yakov lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Trucks has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Trucks and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Trucks throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Yakov connects with a leg kick.
Trucks misses with a few strikes there.
Yakov throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Trucks on the side of the head.

Yakov throws a hook but Trucks blocks it.
Some bone on bone action there as Yakov checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.

Oooooh!!! Yakov has knocked Trucks down with a huge combo! Yakov steps away and waves a wobbly Trucks back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

Trucks is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Trucks drops his hands momentarily. Yakov doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Trucks staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Trucks doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kazimir Yakov!
In his post fight interview, Kazimir Yakov started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
Derek Trucks spoke after the fight, saying 'This is not my first rodeo! See you on the matt again!'.
