Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Raminus Polus (ranked 835 p4p, 856 weight class) and Benji Torres (ranked 114 p4p, 118 weight class). Benji Torres has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Raminus Polus's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raminus Polus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Benji Torres!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Donald Grub and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres throws a jab but it's blocked by Polus.
Torres with a hook.
Torres jabs Polus right on the nose. Polus blinks but takes it well.
Polus throws a series of punches but Torres moves out of range.
Nice sprawl there from Torres as Polus shoots in.
Torres swings widly with a right hand

and Polus counters with a nice double leg into side control. Torres won't be happy with that.
Torres is looking to reverse the position.
Polus tries to advance to mount but can't.
Polus postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Polus is trying to get an arm triangle but Torres is defending well.

Polus tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Polus has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Torres might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Torres has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Benji Torres showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Polus looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Torres has picked Polus up and slammed him! Polus can't keep hold of the triangle and Torres manages to pass to side control!

Torres stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Polus swivels though and keeps the full guard.

I would just about give that final round to Benji Torres.
I think Torres has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
