Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David Choke (ranked 406 p4p, 129 weight class) and Joost Van Buren (ranked 64 p4p, 22 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, David Choke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 39 - 22 - 1, fighting out of New York, Joost Van Buren!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Colin Fotheringham and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Choke checks the leg kick.
Van Buren stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Van Buren wants it to stay on the feet.
Van Buren slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Van Buren creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Van Buren lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
With the fighters up against the cage, Van Buren throws an elbow but misses.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Van Buren makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Van Buren misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Van Buren is working Choke over against the cage.
Choke jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Van Buren walks away with a smile on his face. Choke gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Choke shoots in but Van Buren avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Van Buren seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Choke is on top in guard.

Van Buren bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Choke's guard.

Van Buren throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Choke stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Van Buren throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Choke sees it coming and avoids it easily.

David Choke has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Choke has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Van Buren. Oh but Choke has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Van Buren goes limp - he's gone! Choke jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
