Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Gideon Navarro (ranked 502 p4p, 716 weight class) and Vlad Darko (ranked 74 p4p, 103 weight class). Darko has chosen Ominous Drumming as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 38 - 22 - 1, fighting out of New York, Gideon Navarro! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 25 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Vlad Darko! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight. Darko takes a swing at Navarro's ribcage but misses. Navarro is looking to counter with a shot to the body. Navarro moves out of range as Darko throws a body kick.

and Navarro counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Navarro moves out of range of the strikes. Navarro was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Darko throws a poor cross that misses
and Navarro counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Vlad Darko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Darko slips under a jab from Navarro. Navarro lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
That's one minute gone in the round. Darko looks to throw the jab but Navarro is out of range. Darko pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Navarro throwing a counter right hand but Darko manages to avoid it. Navarro misses with an uppercut
and Darko connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Darko misses with a looping right. Darko will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Darko missing with a left hand there. Navarro was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. It looked like Navarro wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Darko shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Darko throws an ugly left hook that misses

and Darko counters with a stiff right hand. The crowd cheers as Darko lands an impressive looking overhand right. Navarro doesn't seem phased though. Darko swings widly with a right hand

That's three minutes gone in the round. A head kick by Navarro misses and Darko counters with a stiff right hand. Navarro checks a low kick from Darko. Navarro is looking to counter punch. Darko misses with an uppercut
and Navarro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Darko throws out a token jab with nothing on it. It looked like Navarro was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit. Darko tests Navarro's chin there with a solid looking shot. Navarro ducks under a wild hook from Darko. A little feinted left hand from Navarro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Navarro throws a hook but Darko blocks it. Darko feints a counter leg kick. Darko misses with a right hand and Navarro cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Navarro throws a combination that misses and Navarro takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Navarro throws a shot from downtown. Darko moves away and avoids it. Darko pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A little feinted left hand from Navarro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Vlad Darko dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Darko swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target. Navarro is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Darko finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Navarro has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Darko. Navarro throws out a token jab with nothing on it. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Darko loads up on a big right hand but Navarro slips the punch. Navarro checks the leg kick.
That's one minute gone in the round. A slow jab from Darko misses its intended target. Navarro wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Vlad Darko seems to be getting the better of the standup. Darko throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Navarro. Nice defenses there by Navarro. Navarro swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect. Navarro scores with a crisp jab that stopped Darko in his tracks. Gideon Navarro is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Darko tries a head kick but it misses.
Navarro seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Navarro checks a low kick from Darko. This entire fight has taken place on the feet so far and you wonder whether Navarro might be better served trying to take this one to the ground because he's losing the standup battle so far. Navarro throws a good cross that connects.
A looping hook to the body misses from Darko. Navarro does a little dance to reset his feet. Navarro checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Navarro lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Darko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Navarro. A swing and a miss from Darko. A little feinted left hand from Navarro on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Darko connects with a nice looking jab.
Darko misses with a straight left. Navarro jinks towards his opponent looking like he wants to counter with a mid kick but doesn't commit. Darko shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Darko is looking to slow Navarro down with leg kicks. Navarro walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Navarro moves away from the strike by Darko.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Navarro throws a head kick but Darko moves out of range.
Darko follows through with a counter body kick but it doesn't land. Navarro looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Navarro throws a jab when Darko was well out of range. Darko throws a leg kick enabling Navarro to counter with a crisp jab. Navarro pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Navarro on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Darko. Darko obviously looking to wear him down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Navarro connects with a vicious head kick that knocks Darko to the floor! Navarro dives in looking for the finish! And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Gideon Navarro dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards. Darko throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Navarro counters with a huge left! Darko is in big trouble! He's backing up but Navarro isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Darko from any more damage. A dominating finish by Navarro!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Gideon Navarro! Gideon Navarro bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
