And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Ron Honeybunn, John Mangel and Topper Green.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice defenses there by Glass.
Cruz's corner calls for a 1-2. Cruz obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

It looks like Desmond Glass has been cut.
Cruz takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Desmond Glass seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Cruz drives through and clinches with Glass against the cage.
Cruz is trying to drag Glass to the mat but Glass just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Cruz is pushing Glass up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Cruz looking to break Glass's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Glass remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Cruz will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Cruz is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Glass defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Glass is trying escape back to his feet. He turns into his opponent's guard and eventually finds his way back to his feet.
Cruz looks to throw the jab but Glass is out of range.

Glass lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Cruz fails with an attempt to clinch.
A nice leg kick lands there from Glass.

and Cruz counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Glass throws a body shot but no joy.
Cruz tries to counter with a clinch but Glass shakes him off and moves away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Cruz fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Glass, pushing him back against the cage.
Cruz stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Cruz has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Glass can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cruz will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cruz lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Glass circles away quickly and effectively.

It seemed like Cruz was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Glass tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cruz swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Cruz takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Glass scores with a sloppy right hand. Cruz should have avoided that one.
Cruz throws a nice looking combination but Glass bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cruz lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Cruz connects with a nice short shot to Glass's temple.

Cruz is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Cruz seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Glass is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
