Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gallagher Baginkski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jim Johnathan! The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and William Peck.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnathan looking to score a takedown here. Baginkski is defending well but Johnathan drives through and ends up in Baginkski's guard. Johnathan throws a big elbow that misses. Johnathan missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Johnathan postures up in Baginkski's guard and throws a big left but Baginkski blocks it. Jim Johnathan dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Baginkski leaves Johnathan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Johnathan closes the distance and clinches up with Baginkski, looking for a takedown. Johnathan pushes Baginkski against the cage but Baginkski circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Baginkski throws a counter high kick but Johnathan was just alert enough to avoid it. Nice sprawl there from Baginkski as Johnathan shoots in. Gallagher Baginkski has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Johnathan. Baginkski swings for the body but Johnathan moves out of range.
Baginkski gets caught flat footed, as Johnathan shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Baginkski wants to get back to his feet but Johnathan passes into half guard.
Johnathan not landing any meaningful shots this time. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Johnathan connects with a nice short shot to Baginkski's temple. Jim Johnathan has got the better of the ground game so far. Johnathan not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Johnathan is keen to just control but Baginkski is a slippery customer. Baginkski is trying to get back to full guard. Baginkski is rocked! Johnathan has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Johnathan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Baginkski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Oh Baginkski is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Johnathan seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Johnathan lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Baginkski quite badly. Baginkski pulls Johnathan in close trying to recover. Johnathan postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Baginkski on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Baginkski doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
