Masunwendinghamar comes to the cage accompanied by Weltschmerz. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Thomas Bennett!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bennett slips a straight right by Masunwendinghamar.

Bennett changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Masunwendinghamar looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Bennett is trying to get an arm triangle but Masunwendinghamar is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

You can see the frustration on Masunwendinghamar's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Masunwendinghamar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bennett wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Masunwendinghamar has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Bennett is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Masunwendinghamar is trying to escape and Bennett transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Masunwendinghamar is forced to tap! Nice work there by Bennett! Very nice indeed!

After the fight, Thomas Bennett was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
