Tau was born in Gaborone, Botswana. He has trained amateur boxing since he was 10.
Tau at the age of 18 was approached by an American tourist - boxing coach, who offered him a lot of money to come to the USA to fight illegally.
He won all 20 illegal fights via KO and decided to train professional and became an MMA fighter.
