Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between David King (ranked 571 p4p, 686 weight class) and Dubaku Womba (ranked 84 p4p, 99 weight class). King comes to the cage accompanied by Manchester United Chants George Best Song Spirit In The Sky. Womba is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Damian Marley - Road to Zion ft. Nas. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dubaku Womba!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King misses with a hook

and Womba counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

King kicks Womba off and gets to his feet.
Womba rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Womba shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches King napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Womba laying and praying for a moment but King takes advantage and regains half guard.
Womba lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
King is looking to improve his position.

Womba is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! King is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! King has escaped and now he's on top!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Womba had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. King defends it easily.
King is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Womba misses with a hook. King ducked under it nicely.

King manages to escape and get back to his feet!
King scores with a crisp jab that stopped Womba in his tracks.
King lands a lovely overhand right.
Womba throws a looping overhand right but King ducks down to avoid it.

King is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Womba is controlling him.
Womba chips away with some ground and pound.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that David King will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Womba closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into King's guard.

King is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Womba working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. King doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. King manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Womba bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in King's guard.

Womba seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

King has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Womba tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
Womba is fighting to break King's control of his arms but King is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

King tries to bum rush Womba with a series of wild strikes but Womba uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Womba tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

That was a close second round but I would say that David King will probably get the nod.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Womba accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
King is trying to control the position from the bottom.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
King ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Womba moves away.
King looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Womba gets the takedown into side control.
King tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Womba is looking for the choke from the back position but King is controlling his hands well.

Womba is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
King is keeping busy.
Womba scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Womba punches the canvas rather than the man.

King is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Womba.

I would not like to be King right now.

King is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Womba off. It looks like it's working - Womba slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! King displaying calm under pressure there.
King missing with a left hand there. Womba was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
King just misses with a punch to the body.

King's corner calls for a 1-2. King obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

I would just about give that final round to Dubaku Womba.
I think King has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
