Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Channel Coco!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kung Li!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, David Schapiro and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coco closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coco lands in his opponent's guard.
Coco content to stall in guard here.
Coco has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Li wants to stand but Coco is controlling the position.
Li has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Coco is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Li.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Li is looking to get back to his feet here but Coco is keeping cool and he's managed to take Li's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Li grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Coco is punishing Li with strikes - can he finish him?!
Coco really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Li.
Coco is cranking Li's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Li! He's tightened the choke and Li is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Channel Coco!
