Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kane Thoupos (ranked 1788 p4p, 2928 weight class) and Apollinaire Aury (ranked 236 p4p, 371 weight class). Thoupos kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 151 Rum - JID. Aury is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Party Up. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Apollinaire Aury!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circle momentarily. Thoupos darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
It looks like Apollinaire Aury has been cut.
Thoupos seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Aury digs a good body shot into Thoupos's ribs.
Aury pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Aury uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Thoupos.
And Aury tries to counter it with a takedown but Thoupos pushes his down on his head and steps out.
No joy there for Aury, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Nice defenses there by Thoupos.
Aury swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Aury missing with a left hand there. Thoupos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Aury shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Thoupos is trying to defend but Aury finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Thoupos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aury is working away from the top position though.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Thoupos's corner calls for a 1-2. Thoupos obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Aury misses with a wild combination.

and Thoupos counters with a left to the body.
Thoupos takes a swing at Aury's ribcage but misses.
Thoupos takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Aury moves away from the strike by Thoupos.
Thoupos slips under a jab from Aury.
A quick step to the side and Thoupos tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kane Thoupos is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Aury looks to land a right hand but Thoupos moved out of range.
Aury uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thoupos.
Aury misses with a lunging right hand
and Thoupos counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Aury throws a lazy uppercut
and Thoupos scores with a counter punch that sends Aury to the canvas! Thoupos smells blood - he's punishing Aury with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Aury has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kane Thoupos!

After winning the bout, Kane Thoupos thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
