Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Andros (ranked 2979 p4p, 2337 weight class) and Mike Camble (ranked 372 p4p, 299 weight class). Mike Camble has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Andros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Camble!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Andros tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Camble counters with a straight right hand.
Andros tries to clinch up but Camble circles away and keeps his distance.

and Andros takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Camble swats away the attempt to clinch by Andros.
Camble looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Camble lands with an overhand left.
Andros takes a jab right on the kisser.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Andros tries to clinch but Camble moves out of range.
Camble swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Andros fails with an attempt to clinch.
A countering left hand to the body from Camble misses.
Andros attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Camble avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
A little jabbing left from Camble on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Camble throws a shot from downtown. Andros moves away and avoids it.
Andros tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Camble manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Andros doesn't manage to clinch there - Camble circles away.

Andros rushes Camble and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
We've been informed that Camble has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Camble lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Camble avoiding damage as Andros throws knees to the body.

Camble's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Jab, jab by Camble - just one landing.
Andros tries to clinch up
and Camble cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Andros fails with an attempt to clinch.
As Andros backs off Camble throws a huge counter combo but Andros manages to avoid it all.
Andros throws out a leg kick but Camble moves out of range and Andros only half commits.
A nice side step and Camble releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Andros tries to close the distance and clinch but Camble swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

enabling Camble to counter with a crisp jab.
Andros tries to clinch but Camble moves out of range.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Camble changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Andros looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Andros looks to move to half guard but instead Camble has passed into mount! Damn!

Camble lands a couple of good shots and Andros has given up his back, trying to escape the position!
Oh Andros is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Andros wants to escape the position.

Camble is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Camble throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Andros!

Andros rolls, trying to escape but Camble keeps control of the position.
We've been hearing good reports from Andros's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Camble working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Andros is doing well to defend. Camble seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Andros is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Mike Camble!
Mike Camble was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
