Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Principo Adam!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Juanito Escobar!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Adam is trying to control Escobar's posture but Escobar avoids it.
Adam is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Escobar is looking for a kimura but Adam is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Escobar to get the leverage.

Adam looking for submissions off his back.
Escobar wants to control but Adam is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Adam gets full guard.
Escobar stands and throws Adam's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Escobar tries to advance to mount but Adam denies him.

A lull in the action here as Escobar stalls from top position.
Escobar is looking to take a break and control but Adam is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Escobar tries to move to mount but Adam blocks the move with his legs.

Escobar is trying to get an arm triangle but Adam is defending well.
Adam is trying to get back to half guard.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Escobar shoots in and gets a takedown into Adam's guard.
Adam trying to keep a closed guard but Escobar is proving a slippery customer.
Adam lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Adam stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Escobar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Escobar working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adam doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adam manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Our spies down at at King's Cross MMA inform us that Escobar has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Escobar manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adam manages to get himself to full guard.

Escobar slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Escobar pushes down on Adam's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Adam has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Escobar is working away from the top position though.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Juanito Escobar dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

No luck for Escobar with that takedown attempt.
Escobar takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Adam. Escobar does a little dance to reset his feet.
Adam moves away from the strike by Escobar.
Escobar tries to score a power double leg takedown but Adam sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Escobar somewhat.
Adam swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Escobar swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Adam is looking to counter punch.
Adam displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Escobar throws out the jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Escobar uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Adam.
Adam ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Adam slips under a jab.
Adam waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Escobar.
Adam looks to score with a jab to the body but Escobar is just out of range.

The crowd cheers as Escobar lands an impressive looking overhand right. Adam doesn't seem phased though.
Escobar avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Escobar is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Adam slips a straight right by Escobar.
Escobar just misses with a punch to the body.
Escobar pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Escobar cracks Adam with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Escobar throws a right hand that misses
and Escobar takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Adam shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Escobar regains full guard. Nicely done.

Escobar escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Adam gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Adam passes Escobar's left leg - he's now in half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Escobar looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Adam is taking a breather. Escobar says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adam is keen to just control but Escobar is a slippery customer.
Escobar makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Escobar.

Escobar is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Adam has his hands clasped together but Escobar extends and breaks Adam's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Escobar.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Juanito Escobar!
During a confident post fight interview, Juanito Escobar thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
