Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Sergey Shipilov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oliver Lancaster!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shipilov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
It looks like Sergey Shipilov has been cut.
Oliver Lancaster seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shipilov moves out of range of the strikes.
Shipilov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
A slow jab from Shipilov misses its intended target.
Lancaster fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shipilov manages to avoid it.
Lancaster cracks Shipilov with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Shipilov looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Lancaster finish him?
Shipilov is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shipilov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lancaster.
Nice defenses there by Shipilov.
Shipilov swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Lancaster looks to throw the jab but Shipilov is out of range.
Shipilov thinks about countering with a body kick.
Lancaster connects with a body shot.
That's one minute gone in the round.
A head kick by Shipilov misses
and Lancaster counters with a nice right hand that sends Shipilov toppling to the canvas! Shipilov scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Lancaster finish him?!
Oh Shipilov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shipilov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Shipilov seems to have got his legs back now.
Lancaster cracks Shipilov on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Shipilov falls backwards against the cage. Lancaster follows up with more strikes that drop Shipilov to his knees. Lancaster keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Shipilov! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Oliver Lancaster!
