Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Korben Dallas (ranked 956 p4p, 1240 weight class) and John Makres (ranked 143 p4p, 186 weight class). Makres comes into a darkened arena with his song building. SABATON - Coat of Arms kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Korben Dallas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 16 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Makres! The judges for this bout are Percy O'Donnell, Timothy Bukovac and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dallas avoids a kick to the body.
Makres throws a low kick, looking for Dallas's leg but Dallas calmly moves out of range. Dallas misses with an uppercut. Makres saw that one coming. Makres gets in close and instigates a clinch. Dallas throws a head punch that misses. Dallas can't find room to land a body shot as Makres controls the action.
Makres lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. Dallas throws a punch but it's blocked by Makres. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dallas wants the takedown. Makres is fighting it off but Dallas persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Makres's guard against the cage. Makres manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Dallas fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Makres avoids it really well and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makres moves in looking to clinch but Dallas pushes him off. Makres tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Dallas counters with a stiff right hand. Makres throws a leg kick but Dallas sees it coming and checks it nicely. A little feinted left hand from Dallas on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. The fighters circling - Dallas throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Dallas shoots in and gets a takedown into Makres's guard. Makres has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Dallas has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage. Dallas displaying some good clinch control by pressing Makres up against the cage. Makres taking a breather.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Makres lands with a left to the head. Makres blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Makres lands a body shot in the clinch.
A shot in the inside from Dallas. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A head punch blocked on the inside by Makres. Dallas gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Makres regains guard.
Makres avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dallas throws an elbow that misses. Makres uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dallas's guard. Nice move by Makres! Dallas has a closed guard, preventing Makres from standing up. Dallas bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Makres's guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dallas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Makres wants to stand up but Dallas is controlling him. Dallas pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Makres is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dallas landing with the ground and pound. Dallas working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dallas loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Dallas prevents Makres from getting back to his feet. Dallas with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dallas postures up in Makres's guard and throws a big left but Makres blocks it. Dallas has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Makres wants to stand but Dallas is controlling the position. Dallas wants to pass the guard but Makres is keeping the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Makres is looking to stand back up but Dallas counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Makres. Dallas content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Dallas looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Dallas wants to lay and pray for a moment but Makres keeps working. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Korben Dallas will probably get the nod. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Makres swings away with a body shot that misses
and Dallas counters with a nice uppercut. Dallas blocks a head kick by Makres.
Makres throws a body punch but Dallas moves out of range. Makres moves forwards but Dallas connects with a nice, crisp jab. Makres tries to clinch but Dallas moves away and Dallas counters with a straight right hand. Makres scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Dallas is looking to clinch but Makres is avoiding it.

Dallas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makres moves into the clinch. Makres stops a takedown attempt from Dallas.
Dallas trying to stall but Makres improves his position.
Dallas content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Dallas tries to throw a body punch but Makres avoids it by throwing Dallas back against the cage. Dallas misses with a hook to the ribs.
Makres is fighting off a takedown attempt but Dallas is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Makres to the mat. Makres regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Makres working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dallas. Dallas won't allow Makres to get back to his feet. Dallas wants to pass the guard but Makres is keeping the position. Dallas is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Makres is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Makres has escaped and now he's on top! Dallas wants to control but Makres passes easily into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dallas is looking to control Makres's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dallas avoid being mounted? Dallas is looking for a sweep. Makres is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Dallas trying to control but Makres postures up.
The fighters are battling for position here. Dallas manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Makres has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Dallas is proving hard to escape from. Makres stopping the sweep attempt from Dallas. Makres wants to stand but Dallas has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dallas looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dallas has Makres pulled in close to control his posture. Dallas looking to hit a scissor sweep but Makres is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dallas is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up. Dallas is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Makres pushes Dallas off looking to stand but Dallas dives back in and keeps control.
Dallas is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Makres has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dallas tries to pass to full mount but Makres defends it. Dallas working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Makres is looking to escape. Dallas looks to score some points with some ground and pound. Dallas not landing any meaningful shots this time. Dallas prevents Makres from standing back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Dallas wants to work for an arm triangle but Makres is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Dallas lands a nice short elbow. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Korben Dallas dominated that second round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round! Dallas misses with a hook
and Makres counters with a low kick, right behind Dallas 's knee. Makres gets in close and instigates a clinch. Makres landing knees to the body.
Makres gets through Dallas's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head. Dallas tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. Makres lands with a light punch inside. Makres scores with an uppercut up the middle. Makres works on Dallas's body with a couple of short punches. Dallas tries to pull guard but Makres forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Makres fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
A battle for position here, against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Dallas is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Dallas has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Makres avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Korben Dallas. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dallas swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Makres would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Makres stands up from guard. Let's bang! Jab from Makres. Makres is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Makres delivers a nice body kick. Makres throws a low kick, looking for Dallas's leg but Dallas calmly moves out of range. Dallas was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Makres throws a left and a right that both miss
and Dallas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Makres wants to clinch up but Dallas keeps it at a distance.

Makres tries to clinch but Dallas moves out of range. Dallas closes the distance looking to clinch and Makres cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Makres looks to clinch and Dallas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Makres doesn't manage to clinch there - Dallas circles away.
Dallas tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Makres manages to circle out of the way. A cross from Dallas lands. Dallas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Dallas. It looks like Dallas has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Makres ducks under a wild hook from Dallas. Dallas is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all. Makres lands a leg kick that knocks Dallas off balance momentarily. Dallas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Makres wants to clinch up but Dallas keeps it at a distance. Good standup being displayed there by Dallas as he connects with a hook. Makres misses with a looping right. Dallas thinks about countering with a body kick. Makres goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Makres on the wrong end of a nice hook. John Makres seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Makres fakes a head shot and lands one to the body. Korben Dallas is winning the standup battle so far. Makres closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage. Dallas stalling in the clinch but Makres improves position. Makres lands a left hand that snaps the head of Dallas backwards. Makres misses with a hook to the ribs.
John Makres has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Dallas avoiding damage as Makres throws knees to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A quick uppercut on the inside from Makres. Makres working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dallas blocks a body shot from Makres. Dallas lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. A short left from Dallas. Makres tries to work over Dallas's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target. A quick uppercut on the inside from Dallas. Dallas misses with a shot to the kidneys.
And that's the end of the fight! John Makres comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Dallas has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
