Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Reinaldo Gracie (ranked 664 p4p, 1728 weight class) and Marek Cervenka (ranked 71 p4p, 186 weight class). Gracie's entrance music is Apaga Mas Não Bate. A fine choice. Reinaldo Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Marek Cervenka!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cervenka waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Gracie.
As Cervenka tries to get set, Gracie tries to push him back and clinch up but Cervenka manages to avoid the attempt.
Gracie takes one to the chin there.

Cervenka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Gracie is trying to defend but Cervenka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Gracie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gracie.
Cervenka wants to control from the top but Gracie keeps moving.
Cervenka really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cervenka can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cervenka slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The referee asks Cervenka politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Cervenka prefers to stall for the moment though.

Gracie is looking for a sweep. Cervenka is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gracie uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Cervenka.
Gracie drops down looking for a counter takedown but Cervenka sprawls and moves away.

Cervenka stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gracie swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cervenka got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gracie has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cervenka has managed to get both his arms back between Gracie's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A telegraphed right hand from Cervenka misses the target.
Gracie wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Gracie has his foot on Cervenka's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cervenka works his way back into a safe position though.

Gracie seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Gracie quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Cervenka has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Gracie celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
